Meaning
Al-Khabeer means the All-Aware, the Fully Acquainted: the One who knows the inner reality and the most hidden parts of everything.
Understanding the Name
While Al-Aleem describes Allah’s complete knowledge, Al-Khabeer stresses His knowledge of the inner, hidden side of things: the secret motives behind actions, the true state of hearts and the outcome of every affair. “And He is the Wise, the All-Aware” (Al-An‘am 6:18).
Since nothing is hidden from Al-Khabeer, the believer does not need to prove himself to people. He is content that his Lord knows his sincerity, and he is careful because his Lord knows his faults.
Effects and reflections
Those who live carelessly and ignore Almighty Allah do not realise that they will have to give an account of every single deed on the Day of Judgement. Those who are aware of the Hereafter lead a pious life, surrendering themselves to the Creator and following the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ.
Those who do not believe that Allah is Al-Khabeer ruin their life in this world and the next; they lose their peace and become victims of vices and sins. In the Hereafter, the fire and severe punishment await such people.
Treatment (Amal)
Whoever recites “Yā Khabīr” 823 times after every prayer for seven consecutive days will perceive hidden truths, and his insatiable desire for pleasures will be removed, Insha’Allah.
