From the teachings of Hazrat Maulana Shah Abdur Raheem Sahab Dard (Rahmatullah Alaih)
Meaning
Al-Hakeem means the All-Wise: the One whose every command and action is full of perfect wisdom, and who places everything in its right place.
Understanding the Name
Nothing Allah decrees is random or pointless. His laws, His tests and His blessings all have purposes, even when we cannot see them. The Qur’an mentions this Name nearly a hundred times, very often together with Al-Aziz: “He is Allah, the Creator… He is the Almighty, the All-Wise” (Al-Hashr 59:24).
Trusting Al-Hakeem brings peace in hardship: the believer knows that what happened to him was planned by perfect wisdom.
Effects and reflections
As patients, we submit ourselves completely to a physician (hakeem); we even allow him to examine parts of the body that are normally kept covered (satr) when there is a need.
We follow his prescription without argument or doubt and accept whatever he says. A foolish patient who ignores his prescription invites harm upon himself. In the same way, it is our duty to submit ourselves completely to the true Hakeem, Almighty Allah. Are we truly submitting to Him? May Allah have mercy on us. Ameen.
Treatment (Amal)
Whoever recites “Yā Ḥakīm” 89 times after every prayer will, Insha’Allah, find the doors of wisdom and knowledge opened for him, and every difficult task of his will be accomplished.
