In this part the bayan turns to the qualities of the Bani Isra’il that the Qur’an describes as warnings for later nations.
The purpose of these lessons is protection: by knowing the signs of a sealed and hardened heart, the believer can guard his own heart, keep it soft with dhikr and repentance, and ask Allah to keep it firm on guidance.
